Abby Rochman is a master’s student in Georgetown University’s Communication, Culture & Technology program, where she focuses on trust and safety in digital environments and the social impacts of emerging technologies. Previously, she was the inaugural Online Safety Fellow at the Family Online Safety Institute, where she researched AI-generated non-consensual intimate imagery and contributes to policy development on child and family safety online.
Before graduate school, Abby worked as a User Experience Researcher at Twitter and as a consultant at Google. She also conducted qualitative research on communication strategy at the FrameWorks Institute. As a Fritz Family Fellow, Abby is researching family privacy and technology, drawing on her background in user research and policy analysis to explore how design choices and regulatory frameworks can better protect children and families in digital spaces. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International and Area Studies from Washington University in St. Louis.
