Marianna Poyares is a Fritz Fellow at Georgetown’s Center for Privacy and Technology. She researches the ethics of new technologies of immigration and border enforcement. Trained as a philosopher with a background in public policy and human rights, Marianna has worked, among others, with the Brazilian National Truth Commission, the United Nations Development Program, and the International Rescue Committee and taught at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, The New School, and CUNY. She holds an M.A. in Philosophy, an M.A. in International Relations, and a Ph.D. in Philosophy.
