Ryan Wails

Ryan Wails researches computer privacy and security. His work focuses on covert network communication protocols, high-performance network simulation, secure statistic computation in distributed systems, and path selection in low-latency anonymity systems. Wails is a former NSF Graduate Research Fellow and his work has been recognized with numerous best paper awards. He received two Bachelor of Science degrees from Penn State in 2016, a Master of Science in Computer Science from Georgetown University in 2021, and a PhD in Computer Science from Georgetown University in 2026.
